POST 08/152: CLEANER
Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services
- SALARY: R131 265 per annum
- CENTRE: Kraaifontein CHC
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic numeracy and literacy. ABET (ability to read and write).
- Experience: Relevant cleaning experience in a health facility or hospital environment.
- Inherent job requirements:
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment.
- Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and day/night duties.
- Willing to rotate between different departments as needed.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills):
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to handle conflict and work under pressure.
DUTIES:
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks, including dusting, sweeping, polishing, scrubbing, mopping, and cleaning windows and walls.
- Ensure cleaning equipment (e.g., polishers, scrubbing machines, mops, brooms, and buckets) is cleaned after use and stored properly.
- Use cleaning agents effectively and maintain basic stock control.
- Provide and manage clean linen for the hospital, including handling soiled linen.
- Maintain a hygienic and safe environment according to health standards and procedures to prevent injuries and infections.
- Attend training sessions when required.
