Brief Description

The main purpose of this position is to provide a professional and courteous reception service to SARB visitors.

Detailed Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Receive and welcome South African Reserve Bank visitors while maintaining a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor.
  • Ensure allocated work is completed within set timeframes and defined standards independently.
  • Receive, screen, and respond to incoming telephone calls, dealing with queries or routing calls appropriately.
  • Contact internal hosts promptly upon visitors’ arrival.
  • Respond to public queries and redirect them to the relevant staff members when necessary.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including registering visitors, managing visitor and parking cards, and maintaining the visitor register.
  • Administer and maintain records of issued access cards per relevant legislation.
  • Provide regular reports to the Team Leader on reception operations.
  • Make meaningful improvements to work processes within set time and standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean reception area by following procedures.
  • Answer and divert calls via the switchboard.
  • Take and forward messages when the requested person is unavailable.
  • Assist with telephone inquiries by staying informed on departmental matters.
  • Record and report telephonic trends and discussions.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • A Higher Certificate in Reception (NQF5) or Call Centre.
  • PSIRA Grade D/E registration (advantageous).
  • Two to three years of reception experience in a corporate environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge and skill in operating service delivery equipment/tools/machinery.
  • Service delivery reporting skills.
  • General service delivery knowledge and skills.
